2006 XC70 safety grille in my V70

Post by LongNoseElk »

Hello Volvorines,

while browsing the owners manual of my 2006 V70, I came across the mounting description of the safety grille, which is very present in my Volvo V70 but is described under the XC70 safety grille headline.

My question is: could one order the XC70 safety grille for a normal V70 as extra? Or were V70 even shipped with them as well?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Here's a screenshot of the item mounting from the manual. It's located over the rear seats back rest as a divider to the cargo.

I hope this helps!

It will mount to an XC or V70, it was sold as an accessory available for order or sale at dealerships and came in tan or charcoal color. They are widely available in the auto wreckers here but I believe I looked and they are discontinued from Volvo now. I thought they were called dog grate or dog dividers to keep the hounds out of the seating area.
I see you already have one, yes, its the same part number.

Photo not needed now. Somehow I was thinking of a front of radiator safety grill. Something to protect from deer impact.

VTL had a rad guard welded up, I could have used one before I hit a snow pile and took out my radiator.

Thanks for the Intel!

I know that the previous owner had dogs, one could clearly smell it before I brought the Longnose Elk to the cleaning service.

I also discovered against the bright sunlight the outlines of a former sticker on the window of the cargo door... it. said something with dogs.
So this divider made totally sense in that regard.

Nope, I'm 450 km away from it.
Why are you asking?
