Back Left Window 2001 Volvo V70 T5

Post by johnrapier »

Good Day.

The rear left window is binding. After inspecting it, I found the issue is caused by a broken clip. When rolling the window up or down, it binds at a specific point. If I manually pull on clip, the window will close properly. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Picture of the broken clip at link below.

Can you post a picture that is zoomed out and circle what the issue is?

I will get an image later when I'm back home. The clip in the red circle is snapped so when I roll the window back up it binds halfway up the track. If I pull the metal away from the glass it goes up fine. Trying to find out if there is way to fix it.

I see now that I reviewed the YouTube video on S60 Rear Win regulator.

- I repost your photo, so ppl can see it.

- I also took a screenshot of the YouTube video so you can see.
Likely window guide (the side guide with felt that keeps the glass in place) moving a bit creating friction.

Options:

1. What is the PN for that, idk?

2. Junk yard?

3. Or use a thin metal plate and do a "graft" to bridge the broken parts together?

Thank you I was able to replace it. After removing the plastic rivit and the t25 bolt it came right out. Had to move the window up and down a little.

Can you check these drawings attached? I think it might be part # 8 the rear window guide. Note, prices are in CDN$.

I think this is the part, but with the limited picture available it is hard to confirm:
