2004 XC70 driver's side headlight wiper-- which wiring harness?

Post by Herb Goltz »

Hi All,

My 2004 XC70's driver's side headlight wiper is giving up the ghost and blowing the 15A fuse it shares with the washer pump. There's a wiper delete project in my future, but now it is snowing and cold here. I know that the bumper cover has to come off to do a full delete of the wiper assemblies, but I am hoping I can unplug the harness to the driver's side for now. It looks like there is a harness with a red, yellow and black wire in it that looks like it could go to the wiper motor assembly. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct harness to unplug?

Pull the relay in the fuse box and say goodbye to this useless feature.
I did that 10 yrs ago, label the relay "HL wiper" and leave it lying around in the fuse box.

I pulled the relay, but it also controls the wipers, so that didn't work. I found the connectors under hood after looking at one of Neil's posts that confirmed that the wires to the wiper motors are red, yellow and black. I need to figure out how to cap the washer fluid line, but at least my windshield wipers and washers work as it is snowy and slushy in the Toronto area!

if it's similar to the 2001 there's a T off near the pump under the fluid tank, just switch it out for an elbow
