Re: Possible Fuel Pressure Sensor/Regulator & MAF Issue

Post by chrism »

Years ago I had fuel pressure sensors fail on both of our Volvos. One car was a 2003 V70 2.4 NA and the other was a 2005 S80 2.5 Turbo. On the NA car it threw a fault code before I ever felt any miss in the running. However, in the turbo, it would occasionally miss and stutter LONG before it FINALLY threw a FPS code.
Side note…. In order to help diagnosing fuel supply problems I like to connect a pressure gauge to the injector rail and tape the gauge to the outside of the windshield in a way that I can monitor the actual pressure while driving the car to see if there are pressure fluctuations that correlate with the missing and stuttering.
