Done. Everything but the air filter. Apparently the R takes a different part # than the other V70s. Picking that up tomorrow.

I went with the Volvo transmission fluid.

I documented everything and MAN do I have a ton of material for you. Notes, photos and even a few videos. I'll try to crossload all this data from my head to this and other posts here within 24 hours. The longer it takes the less I'll get out.

They assigned me technician Dave, about whom it's easier to list the Colorado Volvo dealers he hasn't worked at (1) than the ones he has (4). And not because he's moved around often, but because he's had a long career. This is the guy I met over a year ago at a Wendy's restaurant when I asked people inside who owned the beautiful 850 Platinum in the parking lot?

Anyway, turned out great. I was at his side getting in the way for over 5 hours while he worked, and he was more than happy to answer my 850/70 and P2 questions.

The Volvo Bevel Gear Fluid Is A Different Volvo Part Number Than The Volvo Transmission Fluid Part Number.

This is great man, really. I was planning on using Mobil1 on the '04 XC70, just like our '96 850GLT. We use the Volvo blue rad coolant, Febi ATF, Volvo brand PWS fluid/Volvo brand Dot4 brake fluid, Volvo spark plugs and whatever other factory maintenance/repair parts I can find for a decent price. Good stuff.
