2006 V70 2.5T P0036 after new Turbo Control Valve

Post by donc »

Less than an hour after installing an IPD TCV, my check engine light with the P0036 second O2 sensor light went on. I replaced new vacuum lines to the turbo and the other small line to the intake as well as the large line from air tube to the first one way air valve. The code sets on startup as pending and then a "set" code.

I find the code too much of a coincidence and was wondering if anybody has had similar issues after a TCV replacement. Thanks.

The true test is to swap it back out with the OEM unit and see if it goes away.

Google to confirm but I think that is the heater circuit code for the O2 sensor. That means you hit a wire or loosened a plug on the O2 sensor rather than a problem in the vacuum tubing.

Hey Abscate!

What excellent advice! I looked at the rear O2 sensor connector and it was loose. I pushed it in all the way and the code disappeared. I will have the car on the rack this afternoon to confirm that the connector is properly "locked", having had to reach under the car without a jack to do this much. Why the rear O2 sensor is hanging so low to the ground is beyond me. Must have fell down off its perch?

Anyway thanks for the help!
