I read somewhere that they must have been quite keen keeping their suspension geometry to themselves, because according to the owner of a surviving 850 race wagon most racecars and prototypes were destroyed and his came with no suspension, if I recall correctly.

That NA motor was quite interesting. In fact they had problems with the intake ports of the head being too restrictive. Since they had to use the stock head though, they cut off parts of the head and mounted it in a different angle, thereby improving the flow.

Really interesting how far they moved the motor back - it's even with the strut towers. And they must have changed the front suspension geometry, as the top of the strut is removed. Maybe a lower lighter coilover type.

Standard MacPherson setup with coilovers, with remote adjustment. Look at the scuttle and you can see the oil reservoirs remotely mounted. Look at the black brackets just inwards of the original shock mounts and those are where they mount. They moved the mounts inboard to allow for added camber and clearance options.

I was just thinking the same thing. Open exhaust with no turbo in the way on a high revving straight five!
Tried to look up up some noises....
