Keep in mind, GM is not a petrochemical company - even their product was outsourced. THUS: there is NO difference in the system now than in the past, other than the fact a licensing fee is not paid to GM, and their TM “Dexron” used in labeling. “DexIII” is the same as it always was, and it’s on the market everywhere, and cheaply. Adding confusing semantic lexicological debates about a few letters in the label is not helpful to anyone and betrays an ignorance of the process and what’s actually in the bottle.MoVolvos wrote: ↑11 Jul 2024, 10:55

Please contribute with info to clarify and not take the obvious out of context so others aren't confused or taken on pointless tangents of the subject in the post. Would appreciate your effort in not distorting what I'm posting and in doing so turning it into nonsense for yourself and potentially others. Thanks!

It is apparent you do not have any formal chemistry training or understanding of this issue: for reference the assertion only SWEPCO fluids make tribofilms. Utter nonsense: you read some whiz-bang marketing stuff, thoroughly misunderstood it, and the regurgitated it incorrectly. Your advice is consistently nonsense wrt chemistry and oil formulating. I’d refrain from giving bad advice.
You provide a lot of info but no link to the sources. Besides, no large conglomerate will provide a stamp of approval without a 3rd party or governing body collecting samples or test sample data.
As for taking things out of context again, even a cursory reading of my post and it’s links I’ve attributed ZDDP to the Tribofilm and not to Swepo fluids only as you assert. What make Swepco unique to all the high end car owners, racers and engine builders is the ZDDP and other synergistic additives that makes it a stand out from other oils for the professionals. They don't advertise nor sponsor so those who choose to use is based on performance.
My experience with the car's performance from using it for so many year proves to me the product is indeed superior. From my photos you see I've tried a lot of products over the years in quantity besides being able to compare it in different makes and model. I'm not exclusive to Swepo due to pricing though it's would be my product of choice especially helping older or worn vehicles. I have no more to add that could help you with not distorting mine or potentially others post.
