We had an AFL premiership match yesterday. The 'roos (North Melbourne) were knocked out and didn't make the finals.

The Tigers (Richmond) were the victors so I'd better watch out for night stalking cats.

Wife promised she would be my pace car tomorrow.

You're saying you pushed the filter screen out and possibly up into the transmission or poked a hole in it? That sounds like Trouble. The objective would be to find a way to clean/clear the debris from the screen without needing to pull the transmission. Not effectively bypass or remove the filter. Larger particles this screen is designed to block will likely cause problems -- accelerate wear of the frictions, cause problems in the valve body/solenoids etc.

The line you blew into I believe is the return line that would drain back to the pan (not back flow through the pump/filter). In the flush DIY videos I've seen where people run the engine and pull 3L at a time they get the old fluid out through a tube inserted into the radiator side of that connection with a makeshift seal around a tube. So by that metric I think you need to pressurize the port on the radiator to backflush through the pump or disconnect the other hose down below and blow or run solvent/suck fluid through that. People usually access the system via at the top connection because the lower one is difficult to access without removing other stuff. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Precopster can if he wants to put 2 filters inline. One on each transmission line from / to the radiator. Then the fluid will be like pure. Plus the filter does not catch all the debris.

You can't clear the filter without removing it. If you can find a way please share it....do please!!

I didn't use a camera but from what I can feel the filter is out of the way.

I'll take my chances with a Magnefine replaced every engine oil change rather than a filter I'm not certain I cleared properly because I can't see it.

5 kms and counting. We're at a shopping mall in convoy.

mbrian200 I didn't blow air into the
return line. I blew air into the radiator port it belongs to effectively pushing crud off the bottom of the filter and into the sump area. I used nylon hose with electrical tape to provide a seal with the radiator port.

When back flushing the filings with fluid I used the return line which lead straight to the hole I drilled or within a few inches.

11kms and still driving well. The 1-2 shift feels softer than it used to.

All other shifts are perfect.

You need to invoke the Wall Street model , cuhfs......take the rewards of the risk, but tell the public they have to pay for the failures.... :-)

I hope the Tigers did better than Crystal Palace is doing....
