Thats about 3 squares or 9 bundles of shingles - not too bad.
Thanks but no shingles for me, just 8 sheets of steel on each side of the roof.
Amish told me to Leave the shingles on, nail down 1x2 wood slats and screw the sheets down with self sealing screws into slats, nothing else needed, no underlayers etc. Its just a garage, not house.
Sheets are 36 inches wide, 9 feet long. They're cutting the sheets to length for me.
Doing it like this guy.

I would strip them, put down Grace on the whole roof, then sheet metal

That roof will then outlive everyone here.

Here's a stubby impact on a HF PANCAKE. !
Using terrible air hose too.
First wheel takes 2 minutes , adjusting his technique the last wheel took 34 seconds.
I would have said it can't be done.
I adjusted my compressor to kick on at 80psi. Its not much use if it drops to 60 before cycling back on again.

When it comes time to do the house we'll do it the right way.

Meanwhile...i'll leave the tarp on if you like.

What the frick is the use of an O/D in specifying pipes? I ran a bunch of pipes in my garage, but despite having the volume in the compressor and pressure required, I cannot get the volume of air through the actually 3/8" I/D pipe over the lengths I have. When I have more time and can clear all the crap out of the garage I will rip it all out and get the 3/4" instead (actually 1/2" I/D).

Neil.
Just measured mine, 11mm.I/D.
I think that's 7/16.

Couplers are choke points. Quick disconnects rob a lot of flow as do neat and tidy looking 90 deg turns.

Hi Guys, I took delivery of my 2001 V70 XC on Saturday, drove it on Sunday, Wife and dogs in the car, we went to the Randpark Spa, so she could book her session, as I turned the U turn the engine, ABS and traction lights came on, OK, so now we go home, PO said there was some intermittent issue with the ABS so today I took the air filter housing out, cleaned it (full of dust and crap) and proceeded to remove the ABS module, bit of a job but anyway found the plug a bit tight and dirty so after a good clean, wheels off to check sensors etc etc, cleaned the ABS module plug with cleaner and put it all back together, voila! no check engine or traction light but the ABS was still on, so I drove it up the road and a block later the light went out, the ABS works (quick stamp on the brakes!) and one day I guess I will see how the traction control works!, tomorrow is change all fluids, antifreeze, power steering, etc etc, Haldex is last, need to get the kit first BTW the power steering fluid is brown and the book says never needs to be changed? I beg to differ!! I will keep everyone interested posted as to how the work is going, lots of rubbers need to be changed, thats going to be a long job, cheers, love Volvo, still tough after 16 years!! Steve

:? Hi Guys and Gals

OK, so today we changed the engine oil first, still clean but thin, so we put in our special oil, SAE40 from our supplier (we use this in all of our trucks and gensets) could NOT get the oil filter housing off, so need to buy the tool, Volvo SA won't sell me one :? so I will get one off EBay, anyway no harm, the filter will be fine for a while, engine now runs smooth, then we did the power steering (anyone for coffee?) thats what it looked like, dark brown, so in went a whole 1,5 L of fresh Liqui Moly PS fluid ( I found out from my LM rep that LM make most of Volvos fluids) had to sacrifice some to clean the system out, steering is smooth now and lock to lock does not judder or make a noise, ordered and paid for the 2 new gas springs for the dog divider (was so cheap! only R 250.00 each or $ 20.00 each) will have those tomorrow, also we added antifreeze as (the rocket scientists here) had only water in the cooling system so in went 2 L of 96% MEG after a drain of the system and we are now at a +/-25% mix, SA is too hot for 50/50 mix, it is winter here and we have temps from +10 low to +25 high daily, some days the workshop goes to 30 Celsius.

The driving around today was fun, BUT, my buddy Sean who does suspension work will have to have her for a few days next week, a lot of rubbers are shot, took the car to him and he immediately diagnosed the "waltzing" problem, thats next weeks issue and Sean will sort it, then we off to road worthy.

BTW, some shops and stealers are really bad, Martin was told there was a new engine installed after the overheat, I called the guys who did it (my wife is their landlord) and got a run around then the truth, they only replaced the head and gaskets, ripoff artists

Anyway, will keep everyone posted as we go along, it goes like stink and is a really nice car, just the R 8 000.00 for 4 new tires tomorrow
Cheers, Steve
