Was finally able to change the rear engine mount on my S80. I was having trouble to undo the bottom 14mm bolt. Also mounted the polyurethane subframe inserts and am preparing for a retrofit projector project.

On the XC70 i have mounted these poly inserts only on the front of the subframe with two strut bar inserts, quite pleased with it. I am waiting to do the rear ones or it might stay like this. This is for avoiding the increased road noise in the cabin.
On the V70 i had mounted the whole inserts kit with a transmission and top motor mount and the road noise and vibration was rally increased.
You can feel a slightly better steering feel, the car seemed solid. Those polyurethane thing are very good but if used jointly with a transmission and/or a top motor mount it is to the detriment of confort i think.

You describe my experience very well. I feel the difference in steering, turning is a lot tighter, the sloppyness is gone. I mounted all 4, but am thinking of trying to remove the rear 2, as I received a lot cabin vibrations. For now I will keep all 4 mounted, lets see if the polyurethane will set a bit.

The cabin vibrations are there when idling or driving with very low rpm (like when driving from a complete standstill). When cruising, you will wont notice a thing.

I also have all motormounts changed for new ones. The gearbox mount, the upper mount and the upper small ones have been replaced or reinforced with poly inserts as well.

I went this route on the V70, lesson learned for the XC70! I think the transmission mount does a lot in vibrations.
I will mount the subframes inserts at the rear, but i will keep rubber for top and trans mount.

Happy spring day!
