940, 1993, Leaking Coolant

Newbie here. Our 94, 940 ran hot last night and overheated. I refilled the reservoir and it emptied as fast as I could fill it. I noticed that fluid was leaking from a small, metal tube on the engine block. The tube is about 3/4" in diameter and located on the drivers side near the firewall. It looks like there should be a hose or at least a cap there.
My question is...Is this where a heater hose is supposed to be? I can't find any information on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

There should be two hoses going to the firewall, one inlet and one outlet for the heater. The hose might have come off the metal pipe but it should still be there, attached to the heater stub pipe. If it is, before putting it back on you need to check it to see why it came off. It may be worn or it is possible that the jubilee clip wasn't tight enough.

Thanks Bill. I was able to take a better look at it today. There are 2 hoses coming from the firewall. This is the bottom hose. It appears that it was connected in the middle using a hose clamp. the rest of the hose is still attached to the back of the engine. Should this be a one piece hose? If so, what is the hose called so I can get it ordered.

These two hoses are simply heater hoses. However, they are different as they are shaped.
