Otherwise known as the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor but I have never had a bad ECT keep the car from starting. The giveaway symptom on that failure is that the radiator cooling fan runs full time and continues to run after the car is shut off.

my friend brought over his old snap on scanner,and it shows coolant is at 61 degrees which it is outside.we noticed throttle % reads 20.7 with the gas pedal not even touched.does this seem right.when pressing down on gas pedal % reading does not change at all.could this be a problem with the tcm possibly.
