V70 1999 Engine block heater

Post by ChicagoKev »

I would like to know if there was an available engine heater I can purchase for my V70 1999. My local dealer thought yes but was unable to locate one. I can't find an OEM after-market yet, any ideas? Any refurbished/recycled suppliers/resellers? thanks. I prefer 110v for Chicago, Illinois but would settle for 220v. Sorry, I have to keep my V70 outside, don't think bad of me...

If the car is well maintained, it shouldn't have a problem being outside. I had my 97 850 wagon outside the past two winters here in Milwaukee without a problem. I used an aftermarket radiator hose heater (110v) on my 85 MB 300SD with success, but that was necessary because of higher freezing point of diesel fuel. It required cutting the lower radiator hose and fitting in a heating element.
