I need to replace the front brake pads/rotors for my
2002 S60/T4 AWD.
I don't need high performance equipment but would like something as good or better than the OEM.
I find the OEM pads to be very dusty so if anyone who can suggest equally performing pads with less dust I'd appreciate it
Thanks Kevin
2002 S60 T4 AWD 200,000 kms
Need recommend for front brake pads/rotors

Kevin,
Look on both www.fcpgroton.com and eeuroparts.com
You want just plain Zimmerman rotors (hopefully they have these in stock) which are OEM and better than Brembo now (who is making their stock items all over the world- even China) and you want to look at the Akebono Euro ceramic pads- less does and good bite and people w/ Volvo's are swearing by them.

I was not happy with the OEM offerings on my car either. I now have Akebono Euro Ceramic pads all around and BrakePerformance crossdrilled, slotted and nickel-plated rotors on the front.
You can get the rotors here: http://brakeperformance.com/site/index.php?ad=direct
and the pads on Ebay (cheapest place I have found).

I don't think so. I had Akebonos on the rear and OEM on the front for a few months and the car stopped just fine. The rears hardly do anything anyway, since most of the braking is on the front because of weight transfer under braking and the fact that 60% of the car's weight is on the front to begin with.kdaide wrote:Is there any issue with mixing cermaic pads on the front with the OEM pads on the rear? I just replaced the rear pads last year so they have lots of life left in them

Nice! I have similar- I bought from this vendor on eBay over 2 years ago and rotors are still in great shape...actually, I've replaced my OEM pads a couple of times now- next time (or possibly before that) will need to replace the front rotors again (rear's are hardly worn)- bought all 4 corners at that time for just under $200 shipped: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/R1Concepts__W0QQ_armrsZ1

I'm getting ready to replace front rotors/pads on my 2002 S60 and I'm wondering if the procedure is basically the same on this car as on other cars. Does the ABS system make it more difficult or is still just a matter of pushing the old pads apart to remove them?
