Volvo S80 T6 questions
Hey my name is Aidan (hi),so i'm getting this 1999 s80 t6 for around 4500 grand (actually I think I'm going to be getting it for more like four K or around there) I already know that this is a killer deal 'cause it only has 68,000k miles on it and it has a clean title and all that I checked out the blue book and it was 7000$ in good condition and7500 for excellent and I'd say it was somewere in beetween good and excellent condition, but I still have a few questions #1 what is the differnce bettween a regular s80 2.9 liter and a s80 t6 I know that a t6 has a turbo but is that it? And I have heard that s80s or maybey just volvos in general have transmissison problems and was basicly wondering if anyone could tell me if this is bound to happen to all s80's and if so when or if it is even true? Thanks in advance for any help

It has two turbos. Get it checked out by an independent Volvo mechanic or indie shop. There are many in Portland.
Low miles are good, but first year S80s are not. Be careful with this buy.

The T6 has a firmer suspension. It also has the "Geartronic" shifter that I believe is not standard on the non-T6. Not all the transmissions will fail, but the T6 stresses them more with additional torque and horsepower, so they are more likely to go out than the ones in the non-T6s. You can prolong the life of the trans by changing the fluid and filter. See the repair database for directions.Ayyydon101 wrote:Hey my name is Aidan (hi),so i'm getting this 1999 s80 t6 for around 4500 grand (actually I think I'm going to be getting it for more like four K or around there) I already know that this is a killer deal 'cause it only has 68,000k miles on it and it has a clean title and all that I checked out the blue book and it was 7000$ in good condition and7500 for excellent and I'd say it was somewere in beetween good and excellent condition, but I still have a few questions #1 what is the differnce bettween a regular s80 2.9 liter and a s80 t6 I know that a t6 has a turbo but is that it?
