I followed a step by step picture view of the Oil Trap and went to commence on taking it out. I did come upon the plastic tubes under the foam insulator. What do you know, they snapped!
Considering I placed a stainless tube for my fuel line on my 1978 C30, I was thinking I would do the same, considering it comes in a roll and is workable. I did get that from Ebay. I was also thinking of the cost. 50 dollars about, in order to replace a 3 foot section. Then my neighbor mentioned to me of being able to purchase flexible copper tubing from the local Home Improvement store.. Home Depot. A roll of 10 feet 1/2 inch diameter rolled tubing cost me almost 19 dollars (American). I advise getting a tube bender, cutting the lengths a little bit longer than anticipated and cutting down while fitting. It took a small amount of time and working the final shape for fit was very easily done by hand. Granted a stainless line would have been just a minor more of effort of shaping.
At least I know I won't break the Oil Trap tube.
And on my oil trap, I had sand in mine, so I acquired a used one and soaked it in Keronene. Cleaned it out real nice. No need to buy a new one.
Just for a note, I don't know if I have a permanent solution for that little plastic tube that is encased in the foam with it, though I did use a thin air compressor tube... I guess I will find out how it works.
Metal is so much better than plastic. I might kink it, but I won't break it. LOL
I hope I helped someone.
