Ignition key will not come out of ignition

1998 C-70 Conv.
A) Battery failed.
B) Recharged battery.
C) Ignition key will not come out of ignition.
I am living in Mexico. Any help will be appreciated.

On that model there is a shift over-ride button next to the gear shift- push it in and make sure the gear shift goes all the way into P position, then turn the steering wheel, left or right (foot on brake pedal)...now see if the key will turn and come out.

After coaxing the over ride button out of it's "stuck down" position it worked.
