Wait a minute now- you have a non-turbo right? What exactly did you seal up? My son's 850 is also non-turbo and no PCT nipple- after complete PVC over-haul, it still smokes. Do you have a picture?

i should of took a picture...

i have the nipple on mine....

i sealed where the nipple/ft housing goes into the air intake hose.....with age the opening that greeds the nipple/housing gets loosse, so i added a touch of gasket maker aroud the area where both connect..to make it 100% air tight i left it air dry.....

im taking the car for an longer drive tomorow and make shure it healed it

i thought all na 850's had a flame trap and a nipple housing, the small tube that goes to vac tree and the larger one to oil trap....

after two days, no smoke, making it air tight kinda cured it...

hope it can help some

I agree with you that all Volvo's have those...but only turbo cars have the PTC nipple which comes off of the accordion hose near the turbo... It's a heated part that allows condensed exhaust to recirculate...but often clogs on turbo cars and needs cleaning. My son's 850 (non-turbo) still smokes and I replaced all hoses I could with silicone...but I didn't glue up the flame trap housing (which is what it sounds like you're talking about). I might try or at least see how tight it is and if it leaks first.

right on for sealing the ft housing to the pipe.....

my ft housing is exactly like the one on the eeuroparts link

http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/PartDeta ... id=9135060

and yes mine can be removed fron the intake hose, mine comes in two parts, the accordeon and the hard L shaped pipe that goes to the tb where i have the opening for the ft housing..... i am guessing that most probably more than one design was used...ill browse through vadis..

cheers
