oil trip

Post by zuni97 »

Today I noticed an oil puddle and upon investigation I discovered a fairly significant amount of oil tripping from behind the distributor. Is there a gasket or o ring back there that could be leaking or could it something completely different? Please advise.

I reckon the topic is called: "oil dripping" and you are saying that you discovered a fairly significant amount of oil dripping from behind the distributor  .

Do you have a turbo? If so, the oil return line sometimes leaks.

One of the rear cam seals have gone or it may be oil coming from the filler cap if your PCV hasnt seen attention in a fair while both aren't that hard to fix just the cam seal is a touch harder as it requires the seal to put in straight without rolling the lip

I would check your PCV first to see if it is clogged. If it is, change it and then see if the leak stops.

Very sorry for the typo...it had been a long day

I just serviced the pcv and it is not a turbo. I'll investigate the rear cam seal option. Any insights besides not rolling the lip of the seal?

Thanks
