Billofdurham has been kind enough to respond to the problem of having
no Brake Lights on my 940 and suggested that a defective Bulb Fault Relay might be the culprit.
Based on the troubleshooting that I have already completed I agree with his conclusion and am now trying to remove the relay but can't
reach and remove it from the relay panel socket. Is it necessary to remove the fuse panel and if so, how is that done?
Any help with this problem will be much appreciated. Bill, thanks for your earlier response. Regards, Rocky

To get at the relays remove the ashtray and you will see a clip at either side of the fuse/relay board. They are located just behind the fuse board, or just in front of the relay board, depends on your point of view. Release the clips and draw the whole unit into the vehicle. The wires are long enough to allow it to come out far enough to work on the rear row.
