V70 Airconditioning Intermittent

Post by iceb52! »

I have a 2000 V70 GLT with 126,000 miles. This week the AC started acting up. Sometimes it cools (very well) and other times it does not. Service tech friend at dealership said it sounds like the clutch is failing on the compressor. He recommends changing the compressor also, because, due to his experience the compressor tends to fail fairly soon after the clutch. If you are paying the loabor to replace the clutch, you may as well replace the compressor while everything is torn apart.

Any comments on this? Anyone else have this experience? What should it cost to replace the compressor?
