So I've done a handful of research and basically I have these issues:
P1618 code + P0756 code (I assume that Volvo uses the P1618 code as a "driver" like on a computer to be able to pull the P0756 code)
The P0756 Code is a shift 2-3 solenoid and I understand basically that I can resort to VADIS and yank the tranny out and pop a new one in... however I am sure that more troubleshooting needs to be done to verify that that is the problem, which I don't think it is.
Here's the deal:
Bought the car and it wasn't supposed to drive but did. Cleared the codes as it was in "limp home mode" and it drove fine for 100 miles. Popped back on and then continued driving it after clearing the code again. For another 350 miles before it popped back on.
NOW.... I'm wondering if the ETM recall and so forth is throwing off the transmission and causing these issues, or if there is ANY connection between the two. So my question is should I clear the codes and drop it off to have it reprogrammed and then yank out the ETM and clean it with carb cleaner and see how it runs, or has anyone else had this issue and do they have an easier fix for the P0756 code???
