Hi,
I am trying to repair my '92 Volvo 240 myself. I have the electrical wiring diagrams and seem to have isolated the problem down to the hazard switch, flasher, or turn signal switch. That's still a lot of possibilities.
One day my turn signals just stopped when it was raining. The hazards turn on and flash, the high beams work. The turn signals don't. I went to Pep Boys and got a new flasher, but that didn't change anything. Then I went to Kragen and got a new flasher, but that made the hazards blink double fast instead, but still no turn signals.
Check out the hazard switch and the right loops are made when the switch is toggled. Help? Does it matter that the flashers were not necessarily OEM or AFT for my volvo but happens to fit?
Thanks

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
The make of flasher doesn't matter so long as it is a known replacement for your car.
You have tested the hazard switch and it is working properly. Have you done a similar test on the indicator switch?
One other thing that works through the flasher unit is the seat belt warning.
Bill.
