ATF question

I wnat to flush the tranny on my 2001 S40. It has (according to the owners manual) the AW55-50 transmission. Under oil/fluid specs it says to use Dexron III or Mercon. I also have a 2001 XC70 with an AW tranny and I know I have to use Mobil 3309 or Toyota Type IV in that. What is the correct ATF or what can I use in the S40?

The 2001 S/V40 was the first year to use the 5 speed auto trans in that model. Which means you need to use the JWS3309 fluid for that trans. If it was a 2000 S/V40 then it would take the dexron III or better.
