I hope Ford doesn't do the same thing to Volvo.

I hope not either. Though the problem with Saab is in short, it was bought buy a company that didn't appreciate its uniqueness, and the reason why people bought it. Plus, they never put the money behind the Saab unit.

Let's face it, people loved the ignition key on the floor, I know I did. GM just didn't get the customers who liked Saab, liked it because it was unique.

Other things: Saab never had as much widespread appeal across the US at least, unlike Volvo. Though both brands are the most popular in the Northeast. Saab is just more so. Second, so FAR, Ford is doing "OK" financially. Unless they are looking to sell off Volvo, which there is no word of that I think? I'd like to think it will be OK.

Also, Volvo was smart in adding a greater diversity of models. Saab didn't do that, rather GM didn't.

Once GM bought Saab, I knew it was a matter of time before either Saab went down in flames or was sold. There was no way the philosophy of GM meshed with the philosophy of Saab.

I'd laugh if the Chinese optioned Saab 9-3 9-5's that may be built do very well. Maybe GM will learn something. I doubt it.

Ford has been trying to sell Volvo for years. The latest rumors are that they will sell them to the Chinese firm Geely.

I honestly don't know which is worse. The parts situation looks grim either way.

WOW..I hadn't heard that..thanks...This is bad news for sure. A great brand down the tubes. You know the quality will drop like a rock if the Chinese take it. Crap.

I knew when Ford went and GM went on buying sprees it was a bad idea. The US companies weren't doing so well, and they buy luxury brands.

A Chinese Volvo..great.......I might as well get a horse and carriage.
