Problem with S40 keyless remote

My key less remote for a 2000 S40 works (after several clicks) to open the doors and trunk, but will not respond when trying to lock the vehicle. The battery is new. Any thoughts on what to do?

Also will a universal keyless entry remote control duplicator work with a Volvo?
