I have just joined this site and i hope it will be of help.
i have pushed the trip milage button too hard and it has come
out, can i repair it?
i know how to take the instrument cluster out
but cannot disconnect the spedo,. it is electronic.
also minor "problem", on starting the engine turns over slugishly
but allways fires and runs ok , no misfires could it be a PCV problem.
tube to top of injection unit is clear also the mesh clean.
engine is 2 litre Auto
Many Thanks
Ian

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
I should think you could repair the trip button with either superglue or an epoxy adhesive. The speedo has a plug that should just pull off to disconnect it.
Check the battery connections for cleanliness and tightness. The battery posts can be cleaned with a solution of baking soda and water. Make sure the metal where the negative lead connects to the body is clean and bright. Also check the earth strap from the engine to the chassis. Check the lead, and its connections, from the battery to the starter motor.
The PCV shouldn't make the engine turn over slowly unless it is so choked that there is no ventilation. You would have known about that because oil would have been coming out of every seal and up the dipstick tube.
Bill.
