I've had the clutch changed and dual mass fly wheel also in my 2004 s40, both needed doing, as were making hell of a noise and problems getting into reverse, but still having problems getting into reverse. If i hold the stick when starting to move back it clicks it. Garage suggests it could be one of the teeeth has sheared in gearbox.
I know there is the problem with bushes wearing in older s40's, i have the 2004 model, could this be the problem in this model also? Or does it sound like gearbox is is problems?

I haven't heard of this as a general problem on the later cars.
When a problem of this type arises I always advise people to find a transmission specialist. A diagnosis is usually free.
