Cabin air temp sensor

Post by dkc1977 »

I just bought a 2000 s80, it needs both front seat belt latches replaced and the air cabin temp sensor, so I can get the srs air bag urgent light reset. the quote from the volvo dealership is 200$ per seat belt latch and 300$ for the temp sensor. Can I get these parts after market? Will the light go out after I fix them? Can I just tie the wires together fir the seatbelt problem? I just Don't have 700$

It sounds like the quotes you got were installed prices I hope. Part number for the belt catch is 9191817, list is $73 we sell for $58. I am sure you could install those on your won, if you have some basic hand tools. Getting the light re-set will require a visit to a shop with VIDA.

The ECC temp sensor is more difficult. I have heard of some people using a shop vac to suck out all the lint and debris that gets caught inside the temp sensor. It's worth a try if you want. Part number for a new one is 8633677. List is $146 and we sell for $116.
