VADIS for 850

Post by rp850 »

Hi,

What version of VADIS DVD is the best for a 1995 850 Turbo Wagon? I'm looking at getting the full 2004B English Version. Would that be good?

Thanks!

OK is *any* version of VADIS good for the 850? Does anyone have the DVD?

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

1997 850 T5 [gone] w/ MSD ignition coil, Hallman manual boost controller, injectors, R bumper, OMP strut brace

VADIS
Volvo Aftersales Diagnostics Information System

Official page: https://www.volvotechinfo.com/index.cfm ... Ainfo.main

Example of a repair house using VADIS
http://www.berkeleybobs.com/default_files/page0001.htm

It comes in two flavors, from what I gather: owner and dealer. It's a subscription service where you buy it by the day week or month, and it provides information like an repair manual, only it's written by Volvo itself.

I don't know if it's currently issued on CD, DVD, or web.

You can use ANY version of VADIS that is:

1) compatible with your PC (they made it in many different configurations for different computer systems...I use the DVD version)

and

2) any version dated AFTER your car was built (that is, any version of VADIS later than 1995 would work for you).

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the replies.

VADIS (Volvo Aftersales Diagnostic Information System) is from what I understand an online service manual from Volvo. There's the DVD which has the service manual and then I think it can also be used to do online diagnostics with the right interface cable between the PC and your car. I have no idea how that all works and how much it costs, I just want a decent service manual.

What I was wondering is that there appear to be many different versions of VADIS and I wanted to know which version would include the 850. I have a feeling they all do though. I just haven't had anyone confirm it.
