Reset of Service Code Not engine warning light reset.

I have 2 questions. First, how do you reset the service code? can a OBD control unit do it? Not the Check Engine light, that takes a OBD unit
2nd quesitons. Secondary air pump or smog pump. works fine, I can hear it come on but about every 3 months, it will generate a trouble code and cause the Check Engine light to come on. I just cancel the warning light by going to parts store. but it is an trouble. Any ideas as to a problem other than the motor pump coming on? As you folks know, it sure is Loud. thanks for any ideas

1. The service light for the '96 - '98 960 and S/V90, like the same years 850, needs a Draper Expert Volvo Service & Airbag Indicator Reset Tool. You can see one here.

You may be able to pick one up on eBay.

The attached details checks for the Pulsed Secondary Air Injection System (PAIR) for the S90 - same for the 960. Who thinks up these names?

Regarding Reset of Service Light Code
This worked for me: How to clear Service Engine Light - thanks Tech!
I did not need the Draper Expert Volvo Reset Tool which costs a lot
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. turn key to Pos I . Push and Hold in the odometer reset button while turning key to Pos II and continue to hold in the button the 'service engine light might blink or not depending on your model
3. Once it blinks 3 times, return key to Pos 0 (I removed key *optional*)
4. Service Engine light should be reset now - start the car up to verify the 'Service Engine light' is reset.
Again your Service Light might blink and might not. Mine Didn't
