1) punch him in the face
2) you can order a new lock cylinder & key from a dealer, but this will not help in the event that you have lost both keys to your car and can't lock/unlock the doors. A decent locksmith can make an impression of the lock and cut you a new key. I believe it can also be cut at a dealer based on the serial number of the car, or maybe this is just for the newer ones with laser-cut keys.
I'm assuming your ignition switch is still there and pushed back into the steering column? - depending on the level of destruction there, you may still need to get a new one. Take apart the clamshell and see what happened.

rgryder, welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
If the ignition lock has been destroyed then you will need a replacement. This would probably be a dealer part. However, two of our sponsors, MSwedishParts.com and MyVolvoPartsOnline.com (links at the top of the forum) do list the lock and keys but you need to contact them for a price. You may be able to get a used lock from Erie Vo-Vo (link at the top of the forum). Whoever you contact stress that it is the lock and not the electrical portion of the switch you need.
If it can still be used the dealer can cut keys from the vehicle identification number.
Bill.

In my case, I used MySwedishParts, but any Volvo dealer will suffice. I simply provided them with my VIN and they ordered the coded barrel from Sweden. The barrel matched the original barrel, thus the door keys remained the same as well (which is what I wanted, I didn't want to change all the door locks OR have separate keys). The barrel took about two weeks to get to the States, in the meantime get an impression of the lock so that at least you can lock up your doors.
