05 volvo s60 s d 185 e4
I have the above vehicle just failed its mot because it has no brake lights and no side lights not bulbs or fuses

Due to the fact that you have not gotten a reply, I'm guessing that you have stumped many including me.
But here is my best guess: 1st I would check relays. Not sure where they would be or even if Volvo uses them in there lighting system. I know other manufacturers do. If they do or don't I'm sure someone can provide that info.
2nd I would check for a disconnected harness or a pinch or rub point that may have disrupted or cut the wires going to the lights.
Lastly, what was the last work done to the vehicle? Check the area the work was done in and inspect for any damage to or disconnection of wires.
