A month or so back, my keyless entry stopped working, even after changing batteries. Since I haven't had time to get it fixed, I've just been using my key like people did many years ago.
This morning, I got all the doors unlocked, but the driver's door wouldn't open. When I pulled on the handle, it seemed like it went up further than normal.
Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

I figured it out, and it's simple or complicated, depending on how you look at it. On the right side of the handle, the part which goes into the door and engages the lock, has broken. I can actually open the door if I hold the handle up and pull the lever out. I tried super gluing the lever part to the handle, bit it didn't catch- there may be a piece broken off. I may give gluing it another try.
I'm avoiding the more obvious time-consuming option of removing the inside panel and installing a new handle. That may be my next step. Any further suggestions- where to buy handles, etc.?

Look for the topic "Help with the driver door lock 97 960..." under 240,740,960. forum and check out the attachment of pic from 960fasterthanmy940's post and I maybe able to help if that were the part you want..

The outside left front handle breaks alot. Part number for the chrome one is 30652230. We stock it. The linkage on the handle will break and you just need to replace.
