2001 S80 T6 Radio Issues

Have a 2001 S80 T6 with HU611 Radio/CD Player. Most of the time the buttons on the radio and on the steering wheel are inoperative. However, every once in a while they will work, for like 10 seconds, then quit again.
Any suggestions? Plays fine.

From what I found out at the dealership there is some kind of software for the radios. Maybe you can get it re flashed otherwise I'm sure there is a module that controls it and $450 bucks. Seems like Volvo dealers like that $425/495 price break .

To upgrade my daughters S-80 radio so it will run an I-Pod it will cost $1300!

Man by time I done with this thing I could have bought here a brand new Charger SXT

I remembered seeing this in a different post about a cruise control issue it might fix your radio problem as well.

"Cruise control- I would take fuses 21 and 22 out and keep them out for 5 minutes or so. This resets the steering wheel module, which controls cruise control as well."

I bet this controls the radio buttons as well, give it a try it can't hurt.
