1999 V70 XC discussion

Post by Drsw2276 »

This is my first car and I have some problems with it. A sensor (I can't think of the name) went bad and made the fuel pump, dump fuel into the engine and it plugged the cat converter. The smoke that was coming from the car was intense and it obviously was having trouble running. I got a new cat. convert. but i was wondering if thats going to fix the car enough to get it running? or if i will have to replace the O2 sensors.

If the converter was plugged, it's more than likely at least the front 02 sensor is shot. The back one doesn't do anything but report back to the engine how the cat. is functioning, so wait and see if you get an engine code for that one before you replace it.
