V50 2007 Help with Information

Post by coustyj »

Hi
Insurance totaled my 2000 V70 SE after 10 fabulous years and 169+ K (wanted to keep but salvage laws - OMG). I just bought a 2007 V50 and my VADIS doesnt cover it (2005 - looking for new). Can anyone tell me the Oil and Air Filter Numbers. I have some left over items and was wondering if they will fit. Also it has no fog lights which I intend to install (OEM) and was wondering 1. if the wiring would be there (just unused) and 2. does the car have to go to a dealer for software upgrade to "activate" the wiring.
Thanks for a great forum it saved me many $$$$ on my 2000 and I learned a lot.

Unfortunate about the V70, but these things happen.

VADIS was discontinued in 2005 which is how the discs are circulating for the likes of us to use. To obtain the current Volvo system you need to be a Volvo dealer.

I have looked on FCP's site for the two filters. For the V50 the oil filter number is 8692305 or 8642570. The air filter number isn't given but it specifies that it is suitable for the S40, C30, C70 and V50 from 2004 on. Looking at the pictures for both filters for both cars they aren't the same.

I can't help with the fog lights wiring as my VADIS is the same as yours.

Bill.

I found Volvo VIDA 2008C + EWD DVD English VADIS VCT2000 DICE on Ebay but I read one ad that says it does not work with Windows 7 - which I have.

Congratulations on your new car. The foglight kit you are after is pn-30722467. It will include everything needed to install fog lights on your car. The wiring is already in place. There is software that is required to activate the fog lights, it costs $27.00 and must be plugged into VIDA for the download. Again, you can go to any shop you choose, as long as they have VIDA. All the dealers of course have it, but there are many Indy shops that also have it.

Part number for the oil filter on your car is 8692305. Part number for your air filter is 30757155. Anything else you need please don't hesitate to email with questions.

Installed the fog lights - took a whole 20 minutes (probably less) - piece of cake!!!
Now I just have to come up with the $150.00 dealer wants for software and download. Can't wait to energize them.
Thanks all

Nice! :D

See if you can find an independent that has VIDA. They pay a little more for the software but charge less for labor. Glad to hear it went smooooth.
