960sw 97 132k miles transmission service advice

1. I have scheduled to do transmission service,after noticing a leak on transmission pan, tomorrow. What concern me now was that I have read somewhere in this forum someone did mention about updating software with transmission fluid change with certain models. Does my car fall into this category? My mechanic didn't say anything about updating software of course he's not Volvo mechanic so he's maybe unaware of it.
Can someone verify this info? I don't want to have it done and later have to take my car to a Volvo dealer and update the tranny software if indeed my car need it and thus additional charge.
2. I got a quote of $230 parts and labor to do the above transmission service plus replacing some oil filter base O rings and oil change. Does this quote sound reasonable? They don't look too complicated to do and if I decide to tackle the jobs myself do I need any special tools?

Does the transmission service include a flush or is it just drain and refill?

The oil filter base O rings are fairly easy to do and can be done with DIY tools.

A rough calculation of time involved would be 1.5 to 2 hours if the transmission is flushed. Less if it isn't. Cost of parts I don't know.
