S60 2004, starts and stalls intermitently

Post by mike500 »

HI all,

I own a 2004 s60, 2.5t. Bought in canada and has 96000km. I've had a problem last two weeks. Car starts and immediatley stalls. after a few attempts, car will start, and all is fine.
last week, i wouldn't start at all. The car turns, but it's not getting fuel. I towed it to mechanic, and the car started, no problems. started every time. i did the required service last week, new plugs, oil, etc. basically the required 96000 km service. no messages were recorded by the mecahnic.

this week started and stalled again. the car gave me a service transmission required. but it started and drove. yesterday night, it started and stalled, and i got the works, anit skid service required, transmission service required, engine system service required. as i drive, the codes will come and go. mechanics hooked it up, and got two codes - V0073 and P0600. I was told that looks like it may be a computer problem, should go to volvo dealer.

I went to the dealer last year, as the car would stall on me when driving, and they couldn't fix the problem. My regular mechanic did, by cleaning the fuel line. seems like it might be the same problem as last year.

Any advice as to what the problem could be? What do those error codes mean? Not sure what to do, and i can't drive the car as i never know when i will be stranded.

Hello mike500, Look for any disconnected hoses or vacuum lines. Check for gunk in the ETM. Cleaning instructions are posted on this board. Clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaning spray or carb cleaner. Don't touch it and let it dry. I would change the fuel filter too. Please post back and tell us what you do etc. Kira
