Can anyone advise me what I'm doing wrong with flaring some brake pipe and the 3/16th die is sticking in the pipe.
I am wondering if I'm not cleaning the pipe ends after cutting or not lubricating enough so your opinions would be appreciated

Are you cutting the pipe with a hacksaw or a pipe cutter? A pipe cutter gives a cleaner cut but musn't be tightened up too much or the pipe goes out of shape. A hacksaw cut is usually at a slight angle and the end of the pipe needs all of the burrs removed. The die can stick if the cut isn't true or you have left burrs.
As for lubrication, you only need to put a very small amount of brake fluid on the end of the pipe. I don't usually use any.
Bill.
