Post by nathanthepilot »

Hi, does anyone know how to replace the boost pressure regulator [sensor?] Just bought the part and the Haynes manual doesn't have any technical info on the turbo system. 94 Volvo 850 turbo Thanks! :P

The boost pressure regulator itself or the boost control solenoid?

Well the part number is 1271630. It's a 122 dollar part from the dealer. They were going to charge 1.5 hours of labor to install it. Someone else told me it's located on the air box and unscrews easily (if it's the BCS). I was thinking something like this would be on the turbo itself, but I have no idea not having had this car for long. I just got it a week ago and am trying to work out all the kinks to make it sweet. :D Only 115k on it!

Yeah, that's the boost control solenoid. It's on the side of the airbox. It has 3 hoses running into one side of it and an electrical plug in on the other. My dog could install it in less than 1.5 hrs. Typical dealer tryin' to rip ya off.
