Last night I tried to pull the passenger side xenon headlight out. After removing the cover I noticed there were wires wrapped around the retaining clips on the metal cover they hold in. Are these safety or electrical? Does anyone know the procedure for replacing these bulbs. I want to remove it before ordering the new bulbs so I can get the same intensity rating. Also there is alot of condensation in the lens is this another problem?
Thanks

Those are the wires that provide power to the lights. someone along the way was not careful upon replacement of the bulb. These are a pain to get out but an even bigger pain to get back in correctly. (The bulb can be inserted beside the directional sleeve which will cause poor light dispersion as well as short life.
I have changed mine several times and every time I want to cus. Since the edges of the bracket are fairly sharp, check to make sure that your wire insulation has not been breeched. Lift the retaining clip and if you can't lower it due to the wires being wrapped, pinch at the bottom and just lift it out of the seat. (the pain is putting it back).
OR you can dod what I did last time... took it to a body shop because they have to do this all the time. Took him about 8 seconds and it was in correctly. He charged me nothing. I sent over a $5 Starbucks card - we were both happy.
Good Luck!

I had some condensation in one of my lenses about 3 years ago; I replaced the rubber seals on the back covers and no more problems since then.
