testing 2001 V40 ign. coils

Hi all,
how does one safely test ignition coils ( I have 2 ) it definitely seems like its running on 2 cylinders

I can say that whenever we ohm out the coils to see if they are within spec, they almost always will be good, even though on the car they do not work correctly. So with coils it is difficult to be 100% sure. My thinking is usually if one of the two has failed, then other one is not far behind anyway, and is best to just change them both to be sure. Part number for the coils is 1275602 for two and 1275603 is the ignition wire kit. This will get her purring nicely again.
