Auto door locking?

Post by GaryB »

I recently received my new xc90 v8 and realized that the doors do not automatically lock at about 15mph as is the case in my s70. Personally, I prefer to have the doors automatically lock. The manual says this is an option, yet nothing further on how to activate it. Is this something that I can do, or is it something that has to be done by the dealer? Thanks for any help that can be offered.

I recently was at the dealer for some work and I had them turn on the auto lock feature. So I believe it's something the dealer can do fairly easily.

Yes, all it takes is a software download.

Our 2004 XC-90 did not have the auto-door lock feature activated either.
We asked the dealer to download the software, which they did, but they failed to tell us that there was a charge to do this. You would think that with all the safety features and considerations that Volvo builds into their cars, that this feature would be included for free. Anyhow, we love the auto-lock, just don't expect it to be a free-bee.
