s80 2000 engine system service urgent

i have hade this light come on the problem start with stop safley restart engine ther is no power when i do pull over to restart the car will start then quit after a few time the car will start then engine system service light urgent i try to pull a code there is nine after a few trys then the car start

Sorry for the bad text last time. I am not very experanced with this, I receive zero codes all i get is, stop safely then restart, after a few tries, during the tries the car starts then shuts off. When the engine system service urgent light comes on, the triangle light lights up and the car will run. The urgent light stays lit. I have cleared the code when there is no code but it turns the urgent light off until the next time. Hopefully this is a little better SteveD

I guess you are saying that it clears the message i.e. since you say there are no codes?
How are you clearing the message? Does the method of clearing the message have a method of trying to read DTC's?

I am using a inexpensive OBD2 scanner , First I read to see if there is any codes, it comes up with zero for codes. At that time I will clear and the red triangle light, and urgent message, will go off for a while. Then the problem starts over, or is just continuing SteveD

Interesting that thre are no codes. Even more interesting thst bespite the absence of codes, clearing them turns the triangle off. Id say try another scanner, stop by an autozone and they'll scan it for free.

What motor do you have? If its a T6, are you running "premium" gas, ie 91 or higher?

Hello agin. I have a T-6 motor, I allways use premium gas. I put in a bottle of injector cleaner every 6 to 8 tanks .

Today on my way to work the message stop restart came on, the car went into limp mode. As I was trying to pull out off traffic ,now the engine system urgent light is on, this time the check engine light came on all so. I pulled over and waited for the car to restart, so I could carry on.
I pulled the codes, and they are, P0121 and P1608 . After that I cleared the codes, drove home, the engine system urgent and triangle came on, but no check engine light, no codes. SteveD

After reading some other forums, then checking matthew's recall notices, I took my car to nashville volvo, where they loaded the recall sofeware at no charge. This was my first experance with a dealer, other than for parts. They were plesant and quick with the service, I was quite suprised. The engine system service urgent message, and the triangle light had gone away. I have notice that there is a better responce of the trottle. I am hopeing that this is the cured. I will keep this forum open for a few day then respond back. Thank you all at matthew forum for your help. I may have lost handfulls of hair otherwise... SteveD
