Radio wiring diagram for 1997 850

Post by owenmpk »

Hello gang,

I have looked all over this site for a wiring diagram for the radio wiring on a 1997 850. I have the PDF of the wiring diagram of the 1996 850 but it does not show the radio wiring. My situation is that my daughters 850 aftermarket radio install was done by cutting off the stock connector so it did not work correctly. i.e. light switch had to be in the on position for radio to work! I have seen links to diagrams but the links are broken. Please help.

Sounds like someone used the dash illumination for power.
This might cost you a dash lighting dimmer unit. Rookie Mistake.

I have some info on another computer that's a little easier to read through.
( I'm on borrowed machine right now...And this laptop keyboard is NOT fun!)
If you would like me to post it, just sing out. It'll probably later this eve.

I have an additional service to offer!
I'm planning to be in the Greater Contra Costa area soon, and I would
GLADLY belittle, berate and just plain holler at who ever cut up the car.
Absolutely Free of Charge!

Honestly, I will NEVER understand cheapskates that won't spend 5 or 10 bucks
on a wiring adapter kit...Just use one ONCE, and you'll never go back  .
( And if it was shop that did it, I think we may be able litigate... )

I feel your pain and hope that someone has learned from this experience.
