About 2 days ago, i stopped by a local Volvo dealership. Main goal is to copy a set of key for my 94' 850. As I talk to parts departmanet guy, I found out my 850 key will cost me $30 to make
However, I realize there are no option of other sources. As I step out towards my car at the parking lot. I enter my car to start it, my car fail to start. I thought to myself "whats the odds of this actually happen?". There I am, sitting in a Volvo dealership parking lot, unable to move, didnt want to make a fool out of myself. I start walking towards the service department, thanking god i wasnt stuck in the middle of nowhere. Soon to find out, Volvo dealership wasnt the cheapest place to fix my 850. I point out to them I think my fuel pump is probably bad. One mechanic walked to my car starting his "problem sloving" skill by hitting my fuel tank from the bottom to "start" my fual pump (eventhough fuel pump is on the top of fuel tank underneath floor mat of the trunk). Till this point I have giving up all my hope of getting my car running. So, I asked him, how much would it cost me to have them figure out exactly whats wrong with my 850. They quote me $150 and maybe more. Depending on how complex the problem. I give them my key and hope they can get it without breaking my fuel tank. The next day they called back and told me the problem is a BAD FUEL PUMP. At this point, I want to run my head to the wall as hard as I can, because I just wasted $150 on a problem I already knew. It gets better, a new fuel pump from Volvo will cost me around $600
