My 02 V70 has problems in reverse only when transmission oil is up to temp. When cold one can reverse with no problem. When hot ( transmission oil temp checked and at 80deg C) reverse is very very juddery as if brakes are snatching on and off. Brakes are not a problem as have eliminated them as cause. Fluid has been flushed and is at correct level (in P and engine running). No error codes displayed on DIM or on diagnostic tool. Gear position sensor checked and is okay. I know solenoid S5 is used purely on reverse so would like to check it out if access is easy enough and would be interested in knowing where transmission fluid temperature sensor wiring is accessible.
Thanks

Hello, Based on your symptoms and my limited experience I'm going to guess that there's a bad piston or valve in your reverse circuit which leaks. The chatter is the resulting engagement, leak/release and engagement. Kira
