My tranny is starting to jet into second gear. Jet or bump. Yhis is an auto with one of those overdrive buttons. It's an 87dl 240. Are rebuilds around 1500.

$1500US is a total and utter ripoff for an AW71.
You can get a perfectly workable one in a junkyard for under $100, and can slap it in with minimal fuss in a pair of weekends, and in an afternoon if you know what you're doing and can be efficient about it.
$1500 is past T5 or Getrag swap territory.
